Variations on the Hip-Lift
This class is part of a series called Variations on a Theme. We take basic movement and explore some of its many variations and expand your dance technique vocabulary!
We’ll Start with warm-up drills, then explore a few of the many ways the hip-lifts can be transformed to better express the music. Beyond the basic hip-lift, you will learn the following variations; timing, traveling, placing it over several different foot patterns, and a “Baladi Style” I learned from Egyptian Master Teacher Raqia Hassan!
