Introduction

Welcome to Variations on Lower Undulations!

In this 72-minute session we will start with Isolation Drills to warm up. From there we will review undulations using the lower spine and hips - both creating an up and over movement and a reverse or up and back movement of the hips. With both movements we will:

  • Explore the movements in place.
  • Travel with the movements using various footwork patterns.
  • Learn Raqia Hassan's combination that combines both up and over with up and back.
  • Learn Raqia Hasan's Maya variation.
  • Learn a short combination using some of the learned variations in combination with other steps.
